Indie folk group Fleet Foxes head way uptown to United Palace on May 18th. The show arrives hot on the heels of "Helplessness Blues," the group's follow-up to their rapturously received self-titled debut album from 2008. The harmonic Seattle-based crew (signed to that town's vaunted Sub Pop label) should prove a good match for this venue's ace acoustics. $40 tickets available here at noon on Friday 2/4.
London dance rock outfit Klaxons play Webster Hall on March 29th. Klaxons briefly put "nu rave" on the map in America before fickle tastes moved on from the genre, or at least gave it a name less reminiscent of glow sticks and pacifiers. An adaptable lot, the group expanded their repertoire to include elements of dubstep and, so help them, prog rock. Meanwhile, their influence permeates current buzz band Crystal Castles, who broke through with a cover of Klaxons' "Atlantis To Interzone." $20 tickets available here at noon on Friday 2/4.
