Megan's Roller Derby

Is it just me, or is the rollerball seriously underutilized? I mean, you've got your lipgloss rollerball and the occasional fragrance one, but other than that, not much happening with the quirky delivery method.

Apparently, Garnier feels the same way. First came their Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller and now there's Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Pro Deep Wrinkle Roller, a super-sized anti-aging rollerball treatment for your face. Seriously. I know it sounds kooky, but it's totally my new favorite beauty toy. It's a skin care treatment and facial massage rolled (heh) into one.

[Beauty lesson time: In general, most of us don't take the needed time to properly apply our skin care products. Ideally you should be massaging a product into your skin for at least a minute in order to get its full effects. Massage boosts micro-circulation and helps products penetrate deeper into the skin's surface. Since you're physically rolling this gel into your skin instead of distractedly slapping it on your face, you're forced to slow down and invest some time in actually applying it. And it's surprisingly relaxing, considering your standing around steamrolling your face with a giant plastic ball.]

But the whole draw for me is obviously the application. I'm sure the formula, which features the brand's Pro-Xylane complex along with vitamin A and omegas 3 and 6, does a great job at plumping, and replenishing the skin, but at the grand old age of 25, I'm not looking to fight off deep wrinkles just yet. Hopefully Garnier's new obsession with the rollerball lasts long enough for them to come out with a lightweight moisturizer in the same format, so I can get my rolling kicks in a skin-appropriate product.
