Adventures In Copyright: Give It A Pearl

Lanvin put a fab new spin on the classic pearl necklace with the shape of this piece they did.

It's so great, in fact, that it "inspired" Forever21 to delve into their good old bag of blatant knock- off tricks.

Thanks to reader See Vang, who stumbled upon the necklace knock-off and remembered seeing the original in Elle, we were made aware of the imitation.

Maybe they thought adding some rhinestone brooches would cover-up the fact they stole the shape and drape of Lanvin's design? But we're pretty sure it doesn't make up for the "pearls" and cheap glue surely used in production.

We don't know about you, but we'd prefer ours to last past Memorial Day.
