Sara, Dan and Mitchel of Fairway whip up a quick and easy lasagna recipe for dinner.
Fairway Market's Lasagna
8 fresh pasta squares
1 pint fresh ricotta
1/2 pint meat sauce
1/2 pint tomato sauce
12 tablespoons parmigiano reggiano
12 basil leaves, whole
10 basil leaves, julienned
1 pinch nutmeg
salt to taste
pepper to taste
Heat the meat sauce and tomato sauce.
Mix ricotta, nutmeg, salt and pepper together. Place the mixture in a heavy pan and warm for 3-4 minutes over a medium heat. Set aside.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and place the pasta squares in for 2-3 minutes. Take out and lightly drain.
On a warm plate place a soup spoon full of tomato sauce. Lay down 1st pasta sheet. Spread out enough ricotta so there is a good layer. Add a layer of meat sauce. Place the second pasta sheet down. Add tomato sauce and a handful of parmigiano reggiano to the top of the lasagna and garnish with 3 basil leaves. Repeat for each individual lasagna.
