Diane von Furstenberg: Designer, Comic Book Author

Diane von Furstenberg is busy these days. Aside from her duty as president of the CFDA, she's turning out a holiday collection inspired by Wonder Woman and adding comic book author to her resume. The designer has just completed Be the Wonder Woman You Can Be, Featuring the Adventures of Diva, Viva & Fifa, an inspirational book illustrated by Furstenberg's friend, artist Konstantin Kakanias. Women's Wear Daily has plot notes:

The key is that the three heroines — all of whom are wearing DVF clothes — make things happen. Diva, for instance, finds herself in a downtown bar to celebrate a male colleague’s successful leveraged buyout and his pending promotion. It turns out, however, that Diva was the brains behind the project. She looks at a reflective surface and sees a DVF, which emboldens her to “Be the Wonder Woman you can be.” Diva makes the point the lbo was her idea, and lands a promotion.

So no scenes where they battle villains in silk wrap dresses, we guess. The comic will be $25 (a fraction of a DVF frock) and will be available at DVF stores and online; her Wonder Woman-inspired collection will be in stores this month.
