Deer Tick's Free Alt-Country

New England: Winsome alt-country act Deer Tick bring its Southern indie blues (via Providence, R.I.) to Pier 54 for a free RiverRocks show. The Brian Williams-endorsed band gets support from DOM, a synth-laden shoegaze group and SXSW breakthrough out of beautiful Worcester, M.A. 6 p.m.

Bridge The Gap: Walk the Brooklyn Bridge and appreciate the staggering vistas it affords during a stroll to celebrate the new audio guide to the landmark narrated by author David McCullough ("John Adams," "1776"). A screening of fellow New York icon "Breakfast at Tiffany's" follows at sunset at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Free. 6 p.m.

Remember When: Dayve Hawk (alias Memory Tapes) was among the crowded crop of electronic bedroom pop artists that helped define the widely mocked chillwave genre back in 2008. Initially considered one of glo-fi's best, he continues to distinguish himself, now with a crisper sound, at Glasslands. With BELL. $15 tickets here. 8:30 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck each day by peeping Play's Dance Card.
