Debuts: The Milk Truck's Grilled Cheeses

Starting Jan. 16, get your artisanal Milk Truck grilled cheeses at the Flea

There are few things more plainly satisfying than a grilled cheese sandwich – except, perhaps, an artisanal grilled cheese sandwich (the process, not the restaurant) with caramelized onions and a fried egg or hopped up on fried piquillo peppers.

Enter the Milk Truck, Keith Klein’s new curds-on-wheels endeavor, debuting next weekend at the Brooklyn Flea in its new Skylight One Hanson location (the actual truck part should follow, when all permits/licenses are in order, by May or June).

Grub Street snagged a menu and offers highlights:

“…a “classic” Wisconsin Gruyère on light rye; another version with Jewish rye from Blue Ribbon Bakery, pickled onions, and whole-grain mustard; a breakfast sandwich with caramelized onions and a fried egg on Balthazar rye; another variety with Lioni mozzarella and piquillo peppers fried in olive oil, served on an Amy’s sandwich roll with aïoli; and a 62 percent bittersweet chocolate on Sullivan Street Bakery bread.”

Has anyone told the Beverly Hills Grilled Cheese Truck about this? Hmm. See GS for the full menu.
