Dead Red Hook Project is Actually, Finally Declared Dead

How silly. We thought the big Red Hook waterfront development project had died earlier this year and had last been seen being tossed into a pit in Green-Wood Cemetery. It turns out that hope remained alive for a little sliver of thing near the Red Hook Cruise Terminal (that had also been declared road kill a long time ago). Well, it's now official. The entire dead Red Hook waterfront redevelopment has been examined by the coroner and declared very, very, very stinking and rotting dead. The last hunk to officially go was Pier 11 as the city rejected every proposal it got for the land. Why? No one knows. An Economic Development Corp. spokesperson did tell the Post: "We are looking at other options now on what is the best use of the pier." Which, the way things have gone on the Red Hook waterfront, could be nothing.
