Kool A.D. Drops New Wine-Inspired Tape

After eliciting rounds of "what is this?" with their debut single "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell," Das Racist confirmed their status as one of the wittiest and most insightful hip-hop groups around with their dual 2010 mixtapes Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man.

Then last year they totally sold out (jk) by making Relax, an album one could buy in an actual record store.  All kidding aside, it seemed to work out pretty well for them, as Relax won rave reviews and produced a single that cracked radio playlists.

The members of the Brooklyn group look to be starting off 2012 by getting back to their free tape roots.

Victor Vazquez, also known as Kool A.D., released a free solo mixtape Wednesday called The Palm Wine Drinkard, which you can download here.

It's the first of three solo mixtapes from the group; Heems and Dapwell will also release solo joints soon. The "solo albums from each member in the same year" gambit seems like an oddly late '70s Kiss from these guys, but as long as Heems stays away from the moon boots everything should be OK.
