On the Market: Zinc Building's Last Tribeca Penthouse

Up in the northern trenches of Tribeca, Corcoran Sunshine has begun marketing the last of the Zinc Building's three penthouses. Constructed on a triangular lot on Canal Street (though the address is 475 Greenwich Street), the former Development Du Jour has been a glassy eye-catcher throughout its rise. In terms of building location, Penthouse East kind of drew the short straw, mostly overlooking Canal and the mouth of the Holland Tunnel. But while the duplex is only on the sixth and seventh floors, that's still high enough to steal some river views. The 3BR, 2.5BA apartment (or 4BR if you really hate media rooms) is 2,767sqft of interior space, with a 1,030sqft terrace that wraps around the upper level as well as an 1,187 roof deck above that. The penthouse has a whiff of that cold, modern loft feel, a chill easily dispatched via the wood-burning fireplace. Asking price is $5.5 million for all that Tribeca air.
