"The last time we went through this (late 80s early 90s) the 1 bedroom/studio market got absolutely crushed because there are a lot of those types of apartments out there as compared to 2-3 bedrooms which families need. Also, the people in general who own the larger apartments tend to be more financially secure so they tend to not default on mortgages etc. As a general rule I've found that people with more money do better in recessions."
