"I don't understand the desire to have more 'affordable housing' in the West Village? Why would you ever restrict the property tax revenue that you can glean from the neighborhood? We could support so many social programs throughout the city from these property tax increases. Providing a housing windfall to a few is a bad use of our government resources. These resources should be given out elsewhere and given out in different kinds of social programs. We should be eliminating affordable housing in the Village - not adding more...Get rid of all subsidized housing in our best neighborhoods."
