The unstoppable beer garden craze continues apace with word that Tom Colicchio will open Lot On Tap, a 350-seat bar beneath the northern terminus of the High Line early next month. Domestic wines and local brews (including Brooklyn High Line Elevated Wheat, a Brooklyn Brewery beer exclusive to the Lot) will be served alongside lobster rolls, ice cream sandwiches and falafel from--trend collision!-- nearby food trucks. Colicchio expects to serve up to 2,000 customers a day in the forbidding, industrial space. The former parking lot will also include an art gallery. [Diner's Journal]
