Christmas Fun For Jews

The true meaning of Christmas: Moo goo gai pan and Mel Brooks

Did you miss Jennifer “8. Is Too My Middle Name” Lee’s lecture Jews & Chinese Food: A Love Affair on Sunday at the 92nd Street Y?

Not to worry: On Friday, December 25 – when many New Yorkers will be plumbing the depths of their stockings and trying to fit turkeys in their wee apartment kitchens – the 92YTribeca has the chosen people covered.

Chinese and a Movie: Mel Brooks Double Feature is just that: a formalizing of what you already do on Christmas, namely, head to Grand Sichuan (sic) because your usual resto haunts are shuttered, and follow that with a trip to the multiplex. They’ll have an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet set up, to which you’ll return for refills during screenings of “Spaceballs” and “Blazing Saddles”, classic films from one of the greatest Jews (and lovers of Chinese food) ever, Mel Brooks.

Chinese and a Movie: Mel Brooks Double Feature
Friday, December 25, 2PM
