Braden Keil reports that next month, the Museum of Natural History will open a 12,000-square-foot skating rink on its Arthur Ross Terrace, adjacent to Theodore Roosevelt Park. It can't be called an ice-skating rink because it's not quite ice; the artificial surface is being engineered so that it doesn't melt or need maintenance (R.I.P. zamboni). Despite the potential for late-night hours, Community Board 7 seems OK with the seasonal rink, which will be larger than the one at Rockefeller Center. By the way, the only reason we're mentioning this is so we can give props to the Post's epic Photoshop of a T-Rex skating. Bravo! [NYP]For more stories from Curbed, go to curbed.com.
