The famed Midtown concert hall will cut its 2009-10 schedule by 10 percent, Carnegie Hall officials told Crain's business newspaper.
Just last week, Metropolitan Opera General Manager Peter Gelb told the New York Times he's facing a recession-related “disaster scenario” that's forced not just pay cuts, but the cancellation or replacement for four expensive shows for next season.
The new Carnegie schedule offers 180 concerts, rather than the 200 in recent seasons.
