Burg Turning Green: Meet Self-Proclaimed ‘First Green Rental'

The building that's been going up on N. 10 Street in Williamsburg for a while across from 125 N. 10, one of the nabe's masterwork's from Robert Scarano, has shown itself. It's not only a rental (big surprise) but is selling itself as Williamsburg's "first green rental." We know this because of the banner hanging outside and because, upon a little googling around, it shows up with a crapload of Craiglist listings as "BEAUTIFUL ALL NEW 'GREEN' RENTAL LOFTS IN THE HEART OF WILLIAMSBURG'S NORTHSIDE!" We all know that green costs big green, especially in what was once an undesirable shithole corner of the neighborhood. So, studios start at $2,400 a month, 1BRs being at $2,800, 2BRs will set you back $3,4000 and the PH with the terrace and private roof deck is going to drain the checking account by $4,950 on the first of every month. What you get in return is: bamboo flooring, radiant heat floor, central a/c, 11 + ft ceilings, and waher /dryers in each unit. We're not seeing anything about this LEED certification thing, so green may be in the eye of the advertising campaign. Nice use of brick, though.
