Brownie Fiend? You Could Be Doing the World Good

Graystone Bakery provides work opportunities for those with obstacles to employment

If you have ever plowed through an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's Fudge Brownie Ice Cream, then you're familiar with the work of Greyston's Bakery, which makes the chocolate-baked goodness in the middle.

The Yonkers-based bakery is serious about their brownies.  They sell four-million pounds a year.  But the bakery is a standout in other ways, as well.

Greystone's mission, in addition to baking, is to provide jobs and training for people who have obstacles to employment.  In addition to employment, the company also helps sponsor continuing education and funds some community service organizations.
