Park Slope's Second Annual Snowflake Celebration
The Park Slope Chamber of Commerce and the Buy in Brooklyn Campaign annouce the return of the Snowflake Celebration. Local merchants throw open their doors to stay open late and create a holiday atmosphere enabling you to do your holiday shopping. Each participating business will stay open until 10 p.m. and will offer some special promotion.
Thursday, December 4. Second date: December 11. Starts at 7 p.m. See website for participating stores on Seventh and Fifth Avenue.

Atlantic Avenue Tree Lighting
Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation is sponsoring the Atlantic Avenue Tree Lighting Ceremony. There will be christmas carols and performances by local school children. The Holiday Windows Competition winners will be announced. The special guest for the event is Santa.
Thursday, December 4. 6-8 p.m. Free. Belarusian Church, corner of Atlantic Avenue and Bond Street.

Brooklyn Documentaries Screening: Observing Brooklyn; Encountering Change
The Brooklyn Film & Arts Festival in partnership with the Brooklyn Historical Society will present a Brooklyn-focused documentary series that illustrates the social and cultural changes in Brooklyn, both past and present. The "Observing Brooklyn; Encountering Change" documentaries series will illuminate a broad range of Brooklyn life including exploring a recently rediscovered century old tunnel beneath Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn stickball players sporting reunion, 1969 family outing in Coney Island, period Brooklyn footage, Brooklyn senior citizens doing some combative reminiscing, and several other short Brooklyn films.
Thursday December 4 and Friday, December 5. 6 p.m. $5. Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street.
