We have exactly been deluged with community garden submissions since we asked for them last week. A fun one did roll in yesterday though: The Summit Street Community Garden. Located at the corner of Summit and Columbia Streets in Red Hook, the garden was established in 1994 through the efforts of many people in the community, who literally dragged toilets, old tires and trash out of several adjoining abandoned lots; it's now run in partnership with the New York City Parks Department and Green Thumb.
