Closing Bell: Nominations for the Building Brooklyn Awards


The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 9th Annual Building Brooklyn Awards. This annual event "recognizes recently completed construction and renovation projects that enrich Brooklyn’s neighborhoods and economy." The deadline is February 12 and submissions must be recently completed projects that have a permanent or temporary certificate of occupancy filed by December 31, 2008. Building categories are adaptive re-use, arts & culture, community facility, education, historic preservation, hotel, retail storefront, industrial, and more. Winners will be announced at a ceremony held on Wednesday, July 15. Last year's winners include the J Condominium in the category of 'Large Scale Residential' and 135 Joralemon Street in the category of 'Historic Preservation.'
