This afternoon, the Beep announced a new cultural initiative in Brooklyn: a gallery-hopping tour they describe as "smART." On Sunday, December 14, between 1pm and 6pm, exhibits and snacks will be open to the public at 64 galleries throughout the borough. Buses (not the one pictured above, btw), staffed with docents to demystify some of the offerings, will shuttle art-goers to four gallery "districts." The Gold Loop hits Dumbo, Downtown Brooklyn, and Red Hook; the Red Loop goes to Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bedford-Stuyvesant; the Green Loop takes on Crown Heights, Park Slope, Gowanus, Sunset Park, and Flatbush; and the Blue Loop travels to Bushwick, Greenpoint and Williamsburg. No Web site, but you can email to reserve a spot, or call 718-802-3530.
