At last night's CB2 meeting, plans to turn a block of St. James Place and all of Lefferts Place into one-way thoroughfares were quashed. Even the block association that originally requested the change didn't end up supporting it, reports the Brooklyn Paper. So why would anyone want those dangerous one-ways? "One alleged benefit of sending traffic south on two blocks of St. James Place and only east on Lefferts Place would make it easier for cars to double-park during street cleaning, which is more strictly prohibited on narrow two-way streets."
