This is a 1,260-square-foot, 2-family, according to Property Shark. It last sold for $615,000 in 2005. It appears that the house was sold under threat of foreclosure. Entered into contract on 4/3/09; closed on 4/3/09; deed recorded on 4/14/09.

$500-$750K Range: GREENPOINT
143 Freeman Street; Price=$550,000 GMAP
A 2,290-square-foot, 2-family house, according to Property Shark. Entered into contract on 1/6/09; closed on 2/23/09; deed recorded on 4/15/09.

$750K-$1 Million Range: PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS
96 Fenimore Street; Price=$998,000 GMAP
Last summer, when this 3,161-sf, two-family limestone was an Open House Pick, it was listed for $1.15 million. This closing comes hot on the heels of another big one in PLG, the sale of 208 Midwood for $995,000. A PLG watcher wrote in to say the Fenimore sale is "Still the highest price ever paid on that block, if not what it might have gotten a year earlier."
