Broken Social Scene Plans Return to New York

Wrangling your friends for a raging party is no easy task and the difficulty only compounds as your invite list grows. Schedules need to be compared. Loved ones need to be consulted. Personal responsibilities need to be addressed. Now imagine that gathering is on the move, traveling from city to city for a pop-up party in a new place every night and you get a glimpse into what its like to be part of Broken Social Scene.

2010 was a busy year for Canada’s most popular indie export. It saw Broken Social Scene release their forth LP Forgiveness Rock Record (Arts & Crafts) that spiked at #34 on the Billboard Charts and features Pitchfork’s 63rd best track of the year “World Sick”. They incessantly toured the world since February with appearances at numerous music festivals including SXSW, Primavera Sound, Pitchfork, Glastonbury, T in the Park and Treasure Island. They also conquered New York with record release shows at Webster Hall and Music Hall of Williamsburg before returning to sell out Rumsey Playfield at Central Park in September.

So what does a band that has done everything plan for the New Year? Well, they plan an encore of course. On January 18 Broken Social Scene will congregate at Terminal 5 to celebrate another huge year with a one off show that will go on sale Friday at noon. We highly recommend you assembling your crew for a night that will be full of bro love and big rock jams courtesy of Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning and the rest of the critically acclaimed Broken Social Scene.
