Bowlmor Readies to Unleash Carnies on Union Square

"Step right up and apply for the HOTTEST positions in NEW YORK CITY NIGHT LIFE," begins the opening line of a Craiglist posting for Carnival, Bowlmor's new boardwalk/carnival venue that is going to "revolutionize the nightlife industry" when it opens next month at 110 University Place. The 16,000 sq ft. event space—formerly Pressure—is meant to combine the nostalgia of the Coney Island boardwalk with the "style and sophistication" of Manhattan. (Yes, all this from a Craigslist posting!). The plans for the revamp were revealed last month, but now the hiring has begun:

The 16,000 square foot event space will house over a dozen authentic boardwalk style games- including a dunk tank and high striker- and feature live entertainment from the nation’s top circus performers. The menu is an upscale take on classic carnival favorites as the executive chef puts his spin on everything from candy apples to barbeque pulled pork sliders.

Potential flame thrower and cotton candy hawkers: the open call ended two hours ago, but there are probably still some openings.

This and TGI Fridays all in the same month? Prepare for minds the Union Square area to be totally blown come Halloween.
