The storefront at 117 Mercer Street.
At noon Friday Monica Botkier opened her first stand-alone store at 117 Mercer Street in Soho, as a monthlong pop-up shop featuring her line of bags and shoes.
When you boil it down, this pop-up shop seems like nothing more than a glorified three-week sample sale, as the store is only temporary and the prices are over 60 percent off. Which is all the more reason to go! Boots that were $675 are now $275, a clutch that was $395 is $150, and a nylon tote that was $450 is now $150.
In addition, get a coupon for 20 percent off her items on the Web site with any purchase. Though the store will close on December 31, the designer says she's using the pop-up to "test the water" to see if she could handle a real long-term outpost, to which we say kudos for still holding on to retail dreams in this economy. Check out a sampling of the stock after the jump.
Botkier Pop-up Shop, 117 Mercer St., nr. Spring St.; 12/12-12/31 (noon-8).
