Betsey Johnson Teams Up with Opening Ceremony

WWD reported back in January that iconic designer Betsey Johnson (who just celebrated her 30th anniversary as a brand) would be kicking it "old-school" in debuting a new vintage collection.

In keeping with that idea, she announced that she'd team up with Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of ultra-cool downtown indie fashion emporium Opening Ceremony to create "Betsey Johnson Archive," a 35-piece capsule collection of the best of the best of Johnson's past designs. We're not talking rehashing old styles and making them new—we're talking genuinely re-issuing old pieces in there here and now. Kind of genius, right?

Well, now Refinery29 has now gotten their hot little hands on one of the first looks from the upcoming collection. A black almost Chewbacca-inspired shag coat? It's so crazy, Betsey, it just might work.

The collection will debut in stores this fall, and we're expecting lots of day-glo yellow and pink, as well as fishnets and frills. Did we mention we can't wait?
