Bethenny Frankel, star of Bravo's "Bethenny Ever After," is known as a nutrition and health guru, but now she's taking on a new subject -- how to get what you want in life.
Fans lined up for hours to hear her speak Tuesday night at Barnes & Noble in Union Square, where she was plugging her latest book, "A Place of Yes: 10 Rules for Getting Everything You Want Out of Life."
The audience laughed uproariously at Frankel's jokes and infamous one-liners.
But the talk took a more serious and emotional tone. If she sounded like a motivational speaker, there was good reason why -- her latest book has lessons for achieving what one wants in life.
"All roads lead to Rome," the former "The Real Housewives of New York" star said throughout the talk.
In perhaps her most candid moment on stage, Frankel recounted a story about having been single, desperate, and broke with $50,000 debt in the bank account just several years ago.
“Being single and broke in your 30s is not cute. It’s not a cute look," she said.
Frankel told her then-boyfriend, a father of three, that she still felt that she could start something in her career and have children of her own.
“Every 9-year-old boy wants to pitch for the Yankees,” he said — and then pointed out that he was no pitcher.
Frankel stood her ground.
“Well I still want to pitch for the Yankees,” she said, and left him.
