West-African blues duo Amadou & Mariam have announced details on the follow-up to their 2009 stateside breakthrough Welcome to Mali, and they've brought a few New York pals along for this one.
Folila, which was produced by long-time associate Bassekou Kouyate, will feature guests such as TV on the Radio and rapper Theophilus London as well as plenty of lovely harmonies (we're assuming based on previous evidence.)
The album will be available March 27 via Because Music and Nonesuch Records.
Pitchfork has a stream of the first single "Dougou Badia," which features Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and a suddenly busy Santigold. You can stream it here and pick up the Dougou Badia EP on Jan. 24.
