9/9: Les Savy Fav Open BK Knitting Factory

Plus David “Never-Nude” Cross on his new memoir and a gourmet fest starring Lidia Bastianich and Jacques Pépin

FACTORY OUTLET: After a seemingly endless wait, the formerly-in-Tribeca Knitting Factory arrives in Brooklyn, throwing open its Metropolitan Avenue doors; addictive art-rockers Les Savy Fav christen it with an inaugural show. Expect special guests (like comedian Hannibal Buress) to swing by and wish the joint well. 7PM.

DRINK UP: Everyone from Keith Olbermann to Paul Rudd thinks you should read “I Drink for a Reason,” a memoir of sorts from David Cross – comedian, smart-aleck, and the man without whom “Arrested Development”’s never-nude Tobias Fünke would not have been the same. He’ll read from and sign copies of the book at the Columbus Circle Borders tonight at 7PM.

EAT STREET: Think you’ll leave hungry after the WLIW21 Autumn Gourmet Classic? Fat chance. You’ll see live cooking demos from big-name chefs like Lidia Bastianich and Jacques Pépin, sample wares from local winemakers and specialty-food purveyors, and taste bites from area restaurants like Paladar. The diet starts Thursday. Astor Center, 6-9PM.
