9/28: Amos Lee, Lady Antebellum, Sadao Watanabe

  • Philly’s folk-funk luminary Amos Lee rides into Hiro Ballroom, playing a mix of tunes from his soulful latest disc Last Days at the Lodge and other goodies (we’re hoping for some covers, in the vein of his version of Fred Neil's Little Bit O'Rain. 8PM.
  • Yep, Lady Antebellum is unapologetically shiny crossover country-pop. But we’re a sucker for slightly twangy harmonies—and there’ll be plenty of those at the Beacon tonight, 8PM.
  • The Coca-Cola Generations in Jazz Festival welcomes Japanese saxophonist Sadao Watanabe (he’s 77, and has nearly as many album releases to his name) to Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola for the second of two nights. He’ll be backed by a roster of comparative younguns in this rare chance to see him play Stateside. 7:30, 9:30PM.
