RISE & SHINE: Yep, it’s been 20 years since Long Island hip-hoppers De La Soul released their landmark “3 Feet High and Rising,” a rare feelgood entry in the genre’s late-’80s pantheon. They celebrate tonight at the Nokia, backed by the 10-piece Rhythm Roots All-Stars and with Brooklyn MC Buckshot opening. 9PM.
BON APPETIT: Juliamania continues! Cult Smith Street kitchen Saul is serving a five-course dinner based on – what else? – some of Julia Child’s most memorable recipes (all from “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” without which there’d be no Meryl Streep in an apron at the megaplex right now). The $65 menu of rouget en pipérade, basilriffic soupe au pistou and more can be paired with wines (French, bien sûr) for an extra $45. We recommend reserving.
BFF OFF: Lucinda Rosenfeld – whose debut novel “What She Saw…” nailed the malaise of the serial dater – now does the same for that complex character, the frenemy, in “I’m So Happy For You.” The Marie Claire Reading Club hosts a launch event with Rosenfeld (and Bacardi cocktails) at McNally Jackson Books at 7PM.
