2 Teens Arrested in College Racial Attack

Incident happened at Westchester Community College

Two teens are accused of attacking a black man as they all stood in line to register for classes at a community college in a New York City suburb.

Police say the incident at Westchester Community College on Tuesday began when four white teens hurled racial slurs at each other within earshot of the victim. When the victim asked them to stop, one of the teens allegedly struck him in the face, and the others joined in.

The injured teenager suffered a lump on the side of his face.

One of the suspects faces a hate-crime charge of assault. The other suspect was charged with aggravated harassment. The other two teens got away.

College officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
