12/22: ?uestlove's 4th Annual Holiday Party

Oh, it’s on. Also: Todd Barry heads a variety show + “The Black Nutcracker”

STOCKING, STUFFED: ?uestlove – drummer for The Roots, deadpan foil to Jimmy Fallon's late-night folderol, haver of badass hair, and so much more – comes to SOBs for his 4th Annual Holiday Party. For one night only, he’ll ditch the drums to display his eclectic tastes and deep, near-academic musical knowledge in what can only be called the ultimate DJ masterclass. Booties, needless to say, will be shaken. Sweat will coat the dancefloor. And it’s only once a year. Doors 8PM, show at 9PM.

WORTHY: Any comedy marquee involving the likes of Todd Barry and "The Daily Show"’s Wyatt Cenac (among others) wouldn’t need to do much else to get our attention. But tonight’s Comedy on Ice holiday variety bonanza is a benefit for RunTellmanRun, founded by entrepreneur Tellman Knudson, the guy running across the country barefoot to raise $100 million for the homeless. 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to shelters and homes assisting homeless youth. 8PM.

SUGAR RUM CHERRY: Cut out of work early for this one: The Uptown Dance Academy’s “Black Nutcracker” melds music from the original Tchaikovsky score, from the Harlem Nutcracker (Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s languid 1960 adaptation of “The Nutcracker Suite”), from the Commodores (uh-huh) and even throws in some live African drumming for good measure. The dancing? Dance Theater of Harlem’s Robin Williams (no relation) has choreographed a show incorporating everything from classic ballet to cha-cha. Catch it 4PM (or earlier at 10AM and 12PM).
