12/21: Ingrid Michaelson's Holiday Hop + More

Plus the Amateur Ping Pong Tournament and Judy Collins at the Bitter End

HOP TO IT: This flame-haired Staten Island native Ingrid Michaelson’s sound is especially suited to the holidays, so we’re jazzed to go check her out at the cozy City Winery, where she plays her Third Annual Holiday Hop with special guest Greg Laswell who – like the headliner – is a graduate of the School of Melodic Songs Featured on “Grey’s Anatomy”. 9PM.

PADDLE: Consider tonight’s Amateur Ping Pong Tournament at Bell House the cornerstone of your intensive holiday season workout plan. Running after the ball, flop sweat, andcrowd participation encouraged, though – as the organizers put it – “please don't join if you're some crazy pro or way too serious about it. 7PM.

ICON: Judy Collins: Folk singer, activist, haver of fantastic hippie hair rivaled only by that of Emmylou Harris. It’s a rare treat to have her performing live in our town; she’ll play the Bitter End as part of a New York Songwriters Circle event – who’ve hosted intimate concerts with the likes of Norah Jones and Gavin DeGraw -- also featuring Wildflower Recording artists Amy Speace, Kenny White, Ralston Bowles and others. 8PM.
