11/23: Hang With David Chang and Anthony Bourdain

Plus Devendra Banhart and a night of documentaries from as early as the 1880s

STAR POWER: Momofuku’s David Chang comes to the Union Square Barnes & Noble for a chat with Anthony Bourdain and Peter Meehan, who co-authored the cookbook being feted (and signed) tonight: Chang’s recent “Momofuku”, a compendium of the recipes and stories behind his restaurant empire. Get there early, would be our recommendation. 7PM.

LE FREAK (C’EST CHIC): If you missed him at the Town Hall last night, you can still bask in the indie glow of freak-folk originator and hipster sage Devendra Banhart at the Music Hall of Williamsburg tonight. Let’s see if he pulls out any compositions inspired by his breakup with Natalie Portman. Show at 9PM.

TIME TRAVEL: Experimental artspace Monkeytown serves up a full night of documentary shorts made in every decade reaching back to the 1880s: early film camera tests, vaudeville, NYC-based footage, propaganda, science ed, home movies and more. 8PM.
