10/28: Little Death (featuring Moby)

Plus the original horror mockumentary, and mad46 rooftop lounge sunsets for the season

BLUES IN THE NIGHT: Run, don’t walk to Mercury Lounge tonight for a rare opportunity to catch a live show by Little Death, a dirty, gritty, seriously old-school soul-meets-punk outfit born right here in NYC with a not-so-secret secret (it’s Moby’s side project). We recommend a belt of bourbon before the band takes the stage, if only because that’s how the raw, Janis-y vocals of frontwoman Laura Dawn were meant to be heard: through a slightly boozy fog. 9:30PM.

BLOOD MONEY: Waaay back in 1980, Joel DeMott did meta before everybody else when he created the mockumentary “Demon Lover Diary”, about the making of a low-budget slasher film. Funny, funny stuff. See it at the Maysles Cinema at 7:30PM.

SIP: Before the Roosevelt Hotel’s mad46 rooftop lounge bids you farewell until the spring brings back warmer, sipping-cocktails-under-the-sky weather, it has to clear out its bar inventory. They could really use your help -- won’t you come by and enjoy intoxication libations slashed to half price all night long? Yeah, we thought so. 5PM on.
