NIGHT MOVES: What’s scarier than getting lost in a corn maze? Getting lost in a corn maze after dark. In Queens. Saturday night is your last chance to attempt the Queens County Museum’s three-acre Amazing Maize Maze, where solving riddles gets you pieces of the map to freedom.  Flashlights are provided, but gumption is B.Y.O., and you’ll need it. Maize closes at 9PM.

PUCKER UP: The annual Lower East Side Pickle Day returns, now in its tenth year. Point yourself to Ludlow Street at Broome to start sampling a fest’s worth of briney delights from Guss’ Pickles, Rick’s Picks, McClure’s, Divine Brine and others—but save room for foods made with pickles from the likes of Zum Schneider and Two Boots.  Sunday, 11AM.

STORM TROOPER: Tony-winner Julie Taymor is giving you a sneak peek at her upcoming feature film The Tempest at BAM Rose this weekend, in a benefit for Theatre for a New Audience's new home in the BAM Cultural District. Her (re)vision of Shakespeare’s play turns the story’s protagonist into a woman (points for that) played by Helen Mirren (double points), and boasts an unbeatable lineup--Djimon Hounsou, Russell Brand, Tom Conti, Alan Cumming, Alfred Molina, David Strathairn are just a few she’s tapped for the adaptation. (Ticket packages include a VIP dinner post-screening; some tickets remain for the screening and Q&A with cast and director, inquire at 212-229-2819, x 25.) Sunday, 5PM.

BREW HA HA: Hop aboard a school bus and let yourself be ferried from pint to pint as you give over your Saturday to a crawl of craft beers on Staten Island. Kicking off early in the day, with six stops at favorite local bars on the schedule (starting with bierhaus Nurnberger) means you should pre-emptively cancel any plans for Saturday night. RSVP to stgeorgetaps@gmail.com and meet at Cargo Café at 1PM.
