Brooklyn Man Pleads Guilty to Trying to Aid Islamic State Group

One of four men arrested in New York in February for plotting to join the Islamic State group and wage war against the U.S. has pleaded guilty.

Federal prosecutors say Abdurasul Hasanovich Juraboev admitted Friday to conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.

Authorities say the 25-year-old had posted online threats saying he would kill President Obama in an act of martyrdom.

They say he also planned to travel to Syria to fight on behalf of the Islamic State and said he would commit terrorist acts in the U.S. if he couldn't leave the country.

Prosecutors said he discussed killing the president or planting a bomb on Coney Island.

Juraboev's attorney did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
