By Barbara Majeski

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink ribbons and PSA’s are everywhere prompting women to schedule their screenings, explore their genetic DNA and consult with their doctor. This promotional awareness is elevating a collective consciousness that is leading to earlier detection and higher survival rates. As a stage 3 Cancer Survivor, I am proud and eager to share these products from companies that donate a portion of their proceeds to organizations dedicated to eliminating breast cancer. Not only do they give back but they are amazing!

Queen V - The Bright Pink Kit -

Queen V Founder, Lauren Steinberg (26) lost her grandmother to breast cancer and even at a young age, she knew she could be at risk, too. After doing a DNA test to learn more about her family tree, Lauren also learned some life-altering news. She is a carrier for the BRCA1 gene.

Shocked, Lauren’s initial thought was, “I wish I waited until I was older to find this out,” but after meeting with her gynecologist, that mindset changed. Early discovery opened the doors to early testing and inspired her to use her platform, and her brand, Queen V, to help others assess their risks for the gene. To assess your own risk, please click here.

Today, Lauren Steinberg and Queen V have partnered with Bright Pink, the only national non-profit focused on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
