After opening to critical acclaim off-Broadway, Stephen Karam’s “The Humans” will transfer to the Great White Way, the Roundabout Theatre Company confirmed on Tuesday.
The drama, about one family’s difficult Thanksgiving dinner, will begin performance at the Helen Hayes Theatre on January 23, 2016, with an official opening set for Feb. 18.
The entire ensemble cast will reprise their roles on Broadway, including Cassie Beck, Reed Birney, Jayne Houdyshell, Lauren Klein, Arian Moayed and Sarah Steele. Tony winner Joe Mantello will once again direct.
Karam was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, for his play “Sons of the Prophet.”
For those unwilling to wait until Broadway, “The Humans” is currently still running off-Broadway at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre through January 3, 2016.
