LX New York Gets Its Close-Up

The magic begins at 5 p.m. today

The buzz has been building for weeks -- and the show is finally here.

“LX New York” took center stage at 5 pm today on NBC New York’s daytime line-up -- and the highly anticipated addition to the late afternoon schedule is serving up a fast-paced, witty and irreverent take on what’s going on in the city that never sleeps and beyond.

“LX New York,” which will be live five days a week, features a mix of celebrity guests, in-studio experts, cooking segments and lifestyle and entertainment news.

Hosted by Sara Gore, Siafa Lewis and Michael Flocker, the show feature regular segments such as "Oy Vey,” showcasing cooking recipes passed down from one generation to the next from local mothers and their daughters and daughters-in-law.

A weekly segment called “Happy Hour" features the best places to meet and mingle in the city.

“We are truly excited about creating a new benchmark in daytime with the launch of 'LX New York',” said Senior Vice President at NBC Local Media and General manager of LX.TV Morgan Hertzan.

“It underscores our mission to develop the kind of appointment television that will hopefully stir up a little excitement, some water-cooler conversation and provide viewers with an insider’s look at what makes this city tick.”

The show made its debut smack dab in the middle of Fashion Week and contributing correspondent Maria Sansone will be on site talking to top designers while roving reporter Ben Aaron gets some catwalk lessons from “America’s Next Top Model” icon Miss J. Alexander.

During the premiere show, Sara Gore will interview Jay Leno, who will launch his new show later tonight.

Leno won't be the only big name surprise on the show this week, so tune in each night at 5 pm.
