Church Lady Claims Victory in "Saturday Night Live" Character Smackdown

You voted and Church Lady has claimed the winner's circle!

Through four rounds of gruelling and hilarious battles Church Lady, played by actor Dana Carvey, has emerged victorious as your "Saturday Night Live" comedy champion.

When it comes to laughs, "SNL" has been serving up comedy, and a host of hysterical characters, for four decades. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the NBC sketch show, we lined up 16 of your favorite characters and pitted them against each other in a tournament to ultimately prove who is the champ when it comes to bringing the funny.

To claim her righteous victory, Church Lady Enid Strict used her holier-than-thou powers to thwart the comic antics of fellow finalists head-banging duo Wayne and Garth, the rambunctious Matt Foley and the smooth-talking Wild and Crazy Festrunk brothers.

Thanks for voting and don't forget to tune in to the "Saturday Night Live" 40th anniversary special airing live at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on February 15 on NBC.
