John Goodman Tries Out His Boston Accent on ‘Late Night'

John Goodman tried out his Boston accent when he stopped by "Late Night With Seth Meyers" on Wednesday.

The movie, "Patriots Day," about the 2013 Boston Bombing requires Goodman to assume a local dialect for his role as former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis.

Host Meyers suggested Goodman try the accent out in front of the show’s audience. And the attempt started with and ended with Goodman saying "sure" in an unsure New England tone.

"That’s it I’m done," he said.

And when Goodman isn’t practicing his accent, there’s a lot of others things to keep him busy. His movie "10 Cloverfield Lane" is currently in theaters and the former "Roseanne" star is also working on "Kong: Skull Island" with a tentative release date in 2017.

Goodman, 63, explained to Meyers that in between everything he didn’t plan on doing much after "10 Cloverfield Lane."

"I didn’t want to work for a while but the script came in and I decided to do it," he said.

Goodman also chatted about moving his home base to New Orleans two years ago, a change he explained away as simply wanting "to get away from the show business."
