WATCH: Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake Bring “History of Rap” to “Tonight Show”

There was no introduction needed when Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake took the stage on "The Tonight Show" set.

Timberlake’s Friday night guest appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" wrapped up Fallon’s first week as host. The two brought back a favorite “Late Night” tradition for the occasion: another “History of Rap” with help from The Roots.

Returning for a fifth time, the latest segment included a medley of rap songs through the years including Notorious BIG's "Big Poppa," OutKast's "So Fresh, So Clean" and Drake’s “Started from the Bottom.” At one point Timberlake stops the performance during NWA's "Straight Outta Compton" to question whether they could really claim to be from Compton. The jam — complete with dance choreography — ended with Fallon and Timberlake doing Aerosmith's and Run DMC's "Walk this Way."

The performance swarmed social media with "History of Rap 5" and #FallonTonight trending on Twitter.

A sit-down interview with Timberlake about his “20/20 Experience” Tour and a performance of his song, "Not a Bad Thing," followed the duo's viral rap segment.
