Days of Our Lives star Freddie Smith and his girlfriend, Alyssa Tabit, were seriously injured Tuesday morning after their car lost control, The Wrap reports.

According to the police report, the couple was driving in Kingsville Township, Ohio when authorities say Smith failed to safely negotiate a left curve and lost control. The vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a culvert.

As a result, the car was overturned where Tabit, the passenger, was temporarily trapped inside. Police believe speed and alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
