Chris Brown Leaves Philippines After Wait Due to Legal Issue

A Philippine official says a plane carrying Chris Brown has taken off from Manila's airport after a legal complaint stranded the Grammy award-winning singer for three days.

Civil aviation authority spokesman Eric Apolonio said the plane left around 9:30 p.m. local time Friday en route to Hong Kong.

He performed at a packed concert in Manila on Tuesday, but required an emigration clearance to leave the country because a fraud complaint had been filed against him.

After he obtained the certificate Friday afternoon, he and about 10 other people walked to the private plane at a hangar. He then had to sit through a three-hour delay at the airport and fly to Hong Kong instead of Macau.

He has a scheduled concert in Macau on Friday night.
