Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds' Documentary Trailer Shows Sweet Bond

"Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher," set to air on HBO Jan. 8, shows the mother and daughter as two peas in a pod

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, who died just one day apart at the end of December, were beloved actresses who lived through a string of personal struggles. But what many didn't know was how close their daughter bond was, Today.com reported.

A new documentary, finished before they both passed away (Fisher refers to needing to go to rehearsals for 2015's "Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens"), is now set to air on HBO Sunday, Jan. 8, and based on a new trailer, it looks like they really were two peas in a pod.

"Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher" shows the two actresses, who really did live next door to one another, pottering around the house, talking about each other and occasionally kvetching. But among it all is a lot of love.

"I'm my mom’s best friend," Fisher (whose father was singer/actor Eddie Fisher) says in the trailer. "Far more than I would ever want to, I know what my mother feels and wants."
