Can't Handle It! Alec Baldwin to Star in NBC's ‘A Few Good Men' Live Event

Emmy-winner Alec Baldwin will play Col. Nathan Jessep in the adaptation of the 1989 Broadway production

"YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!"

But... can you handle Alec Baldwin stepping into this iconic Jack Nicholson role?

Baldwin has signed on to play Col. Nathan Jessep in NBC's upcoming live production of "A Few Good Men," from playwright and Oscar and Emmy winner Aaron Sorkin.

"Alec Baldwin is the gift that keeps on giving at NBC, and we're excited to have him starring in Aaron Sorkin's towering work as we expand our live theater imprint beyond musicals," said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment.

Baldwin and Sorkin will serve as executive producers alongside Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced NBC's "Hairspray Live."

"Alec is one of our greatest actors. Having him play this role — live onstage for a television audience — is a dream come true," Sorkin said. "This will be a brand new take on Nathan Jessep and I expect that Alec is going to bust through TV screens and right into living rooms.”

"A Few Good Men" first premiered on Broadway in 1989 and became a hit film starring Nicholson, Tom Cruise and Demi Moore in 1992.

The event will be NBC's first live adaptation of a Broadway drama in over 50 years and follows on the heels of recent live television productions "Peter Pan," "The Wiz," "Hairspray" and "The Sound of Music."

The live event is set to premiere in the spring of 2018.
